Mission Statement
The Municipal Court will recognize the interest of the citizens in enforcement of the law and also recognize the interest of defendants in receiving fair treatment and due process of law. The court shall remain independent and objective but recognize its role in the community and promote an understanding of the court and the role of the judicial function.
The Groveton Municipal Court is located in City Hall at 115 West Front Street. Office hours are Monday and Friday only from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This does not include holidays and may be subject to change.
If you were issued a citation, the options you have to resolve your case may vary depending on different factors. You must, however, enter your plea on or before the court appearance date shown on your citation. The law requires that you appear in person or pay the fine and court costs by mail on or before your court date. You or your attorney may appear in person in open court or enter your plea by mail. A telephone call will not constitute a court appearance, grant you additional time, or preserve your rights.
